Massage Therapist and Massage Department Manager

Dana2-225x300At a young age I had a caring nature. Growing up in a small Wisconsin town, I learned the value of community. At age 13, I moved to WA with my family—later becoming a registered nursing assistant (#NA00168643). I began my love affair with massage in 2003 at Renton Technical College and earned the Butterfly Award for Most Transformed Student. After many years struggling with Graves Disease, I found the benefits of massage especially invaluable during thyroid flares and realized that I had found my calling. I started my own business at age 19 from 2003-2010 WA license #MA00018764 and had 1850 hours of basic knowledge in all modalities, A&P, kinesiology, pathology, ethics, and business. I’ve had the opportunity to see the positive results of massage in the elderly and people with developmental and physical disabilities.

My dream is a future with collaborative, cooperative spas where people can retreat and have access to all their healthcare providers in one place. I am grateful to have found a home at Waterstone with such a talented team of colleagues. They teach me something new every day.

My favorite Waterstone spa treatments to offer are the hot stone treatments and the body polishes which utilize the only vichy shower in town. I also love providing duet massages for couples at Lithia Springs Resort with the healing mineral waters in a serene atmosphere. In my Waterstone massage, I use a mix of Swedish and Deep Tissue with Trigger Point Therapy, but that can change depending on your individual goals.

At 30, I fell in love with medical records and have an educational background in psychology, business, and health administration management. When not at the spa, my husband and I love to spend time with family and our babies: Barry, the Chihuahua and Corrina, our beautiful calico. We love thinking of all the places we’ll see together in retirement when we travel the world.
